1161 UV irradiation modulates appetite and body weight through upregulating norepinephrine in mice

چکیده
Ultraviolet (UV) irradiation to the skin downregulates lipid synthesis and adipokine production in subcutaneous fat. Recent evidence also suggests that UV exposure limits body weight gain obesity models. However, it is still unclear how chronic modulates energy metabolism of whole body. High fat- or normal diet-fed female C57BL/6 mice were treated with sham for 12 weeks. stimulated food intake but prevented gain. Leptin, an appetite-suppressing hormone, was significantly reduced serum, skin, inguinal fat high UV-irradiated mice. Besides, promoted orexigenic pathway involving neuropeptide Y agouti-related peptide hypothalamus. Mice showed browning white adipose tissues increased thermogenesis without physical activity. Notably, liquid chromatography/mass spectrometer analyses revealed norepinephrine among most neurotransmitters mice, downregulation by dopamine β-hydroxylase inhibitor nepicastat reversed effects on weight. In conclusion, induces NE release resulting stimulating due anorexigenic hormone leptin, preventing through elevation expenditure.

Effect of Ketotifen and Cyproheptadine on Appetite and Weight Changes in Mice
Ketotifen is a potent, safe and long acting antihistamine that is effective in treatment of asthma and its use is believed to causes weight gain and drowsiness. Cyproheptadine, an antihistamine, has anticholinergic and antiserotonergic effects, and causes increases of the appetite and weight gain. In this study the effects of different doses of ketotifen and/or cyproheptadine on the appeti...
متن کاملGlycaemic index, appetite and body weight.
Much interest has been focused on the relationship between glycaemic index and body-weight loss, some of which is fueled by popular media. However, there is a number of potential mechanisms that could be triggered by reducing the glycaemic index of the carbohydrate consumed in the diet. For example, the effect of foods on the gastrointestinal tract and the effect on blood glucose both could lea...
متن کاملPhytochemicals in the Control of Human Appetite and Body Weight
Since obesity has grown to epidemic proportions, its effective management is a very important clinical issue. Despite the great amount of scientific effort that has been put into understanding the mechanisms that lead to overconsumption and overweight, at the moment very few approaches to weight management are effective in the long term. On the other hand, modern society is also affected by the...
متن کاملThe effects of morphine and nicotine co-administration on body weight, food intake and appetite-regulating peptides in rats
Previous studies in humans and animals have reported that nicotine administration decreases body weightand caloric intake. Opiate and cigarette have been used concomitantly as drug abuse. The aim of the present study was, therefore, to analyze the effect of chronic co-administration of nicotine and morphine on food intake, body weight and on some feeding-associated peptides. All experiments wer...
متن کاملCocaine's appetite for fat and the consequences on body weight.
For many individuals in treatment for cocaine dependence, weight gain is a substantial problem during recovery. This weight gain causes significant distress and seems to increase the risk of relapse. The mechanisms underlying cocaine's effects on weight remain elusive. It is widely assumed that this weight gain reflects a metabolic or behavioural compensatory response to the cessation of cocain...
